Electrical Characterization of Biological Cells on Porous Substrate Using COMSOL Multiphysics®

چکیده
In this paper, the gross electrical characterization of biological cells on porous substrate using COMSOL Multiphysics is analyzed. Dynamic electrical characterization during cell growth is required as non invasive and label free technique to understand the growth kinetics of cells. It is observed from COMSOL simulation that the percentage change in current density is greater in porous substrate than that of flat substrate. Further impedance variation of normal keratinocytes (HaCat) has been carried out in real time with our proposed porous silicon substrate to validate the simulation results.

Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) is increasingly used to investigate moisture distribution in Municipal Waste Landfills, especially when leachate is injected in waste to enhance its biodegradation. It is proposed here to theoretically assess the quality of ERT mapping, using COMSOL Multiphysics' simulations of both hydrodynamical and geophysical aspects. Leachate injection is simulated u...

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices based on Rayleigh wave, shear wave, love wave, acoustic plate mode (APM) wave and flexural plate wave have been explored for sensors, actuators and telecommunication applications. An interdigital transducer (IDT) is a metallic comb-like structure fabricated over piezoelectric substrate. SAWs are generated over the substrate by applying electrical signal to th...

INTRODUCTION: Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) are fabricated with an in-plane fabrication technology. Out-of-plane structures can be designed to be assembled to provide thermal and electrical isolation from the substrate [1 -3]. These isolations can potentially improve the performance of a range of MEMS devices by decreasing any unwanted coupling effects or parasitic losses from the dev...

High temperature superconductors (HTS) are promising candidates for electrical power applications. The electrical devices using HTS conductors or tapes with high critical temperature (Tc) and high current carrying capability operate with more efficiency and higher power density compared to the conventional one. But the superconductor exhibits energy loss known as AC loss when exposed to time va...

This paper focused on a novel method of electroless plating ruthenium (Ru) on solid or porous substrates like porous stainless steel (PSS) discs or ceramic tubes. A novel complexing plating bath of Ru was developed. It is proven that Ru can be deposited directly on these substrates by the bath at a temperature of 328 K and strong alkaline environment. TGA, SEM, EDX and XRD confirmed the success...
